About Erika Crossley
Hi, I’m Erika — a Houston-based AI infrastructure architect with a Master of Public Health. I build AI systems for senior living. Not slide decks about AI, not someday’s AI — the real working plumbing that decides whether a family asking a chatbot “where should I move Mom?” ever hears your community’s name.
I maintain verified data on more than 1,700 Houston-area senior communities, sourced and reconciled against Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) records. That registry is the backbone of everything here. It means when I tell a family a community exists, takes their care level, and has room — that’s coming from the state’s own files, not a sales pipeline.
Why I built Senior Living Tours
Families don’t open a directory anymore. They ask an AI — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google’s AI answers — and they trust whatever name comes back. The trouble is, the big referral sites have spent years teaching those AI engines to recommend a short list of communities that pay the largest commissions. Good communities get skipped. Medicaid-inclusive operators — the ones serving the families with the fewest options — get skipped the most.
So I built Senior Living Tours to do two honest things at once: help families find the right community by simply asking AI, and make sure operators — especially the Medicaid-inclusive ones the big sites ignore — actually get named when AI answers. A 360° interactive brochure families can walk through from their phone, on a page coded so the AI engines describe you accurately and recommend you by name.
The mission
A transparent, family-first alternative to commission-driven referral services. A Place for Mom and the rest charge operators thousands of dollars per placement, and that cost shapes which communities families ever hear about. My model is the opposite: a one-time $250 brochure you own forever, no commission, no monthly bill, no pay-to-play list deciding which family gets sent where. Families get the truth. Operators get found. That’s the whole idea.
